Eero Aarnio born in 1932 in Finland

He studied in Helsinki 1954 to 1957 at the Institute of Industrial Arts.

Eero Aarnio is one of the most celebrated furniture designers of the twentieth century. Credited with an array of distinct and visually striking designs, Aarnio has helped establish Finland in the international design market.

Over the career that spans five decades, Aarnio has created a variety of notable pieces including the Ball, Pastilli, Bubble, Pony and Tomato chairs.

Aarnio's belief that, Design means constant renewal, realignment and growth, is declared in his icono-plastic furniture. Altought he embodied the spirit of the 1960s in the novel forms of his visually exciting designs, he did not embrace Pop culture's ethos of ephemerality and disposability. His furniture is of a high quality and intended for durability.
